Academic degrees

Professor of exact and natural sciences: 2019
Habilitation: 2013, Faculty of Biology, University of Warsaw
Doctorate: 2000, Faculty of Biology and Earth Sciences, Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń
Master of forestry: 1992, Faculty of Forestry, University of Agriculture in Krakow

Scientific interests

My research interests include various aspects of ecology (e.g. functional ecology, ecology of plant-animal interactions, ecology of forest ecosystems, ecology of soil seed banks) and biological conservation. My research focuses on understanding the factors and processes that shape forest ecosystems, their biodiversity and dynamics. As a consequence of such scientific interests, the constant elements taken into account in my research are climate and its changes and the use of forest ecosystems by man.
