Seed morphology and sculpture of invasive Impatiens capensis

Monika Myśliwy

Common in North America and invasive in Europe Impatiens capensis lacked data on microstructure of seed coat. This gap was filled by collaborative work of scientists from Szczecin, Łódź and Białowieża Geobotanical Station (Wojciech Adamowski). Our results, published in PeerJ journal, suggest also that certain habitat variables, especially anthropogenic disturbances and individual soil properties, contribute in shaping the morphological variation of seed.
